In September 2020, about ** percent of respondents in Japan stated that, when the COVID-19 pandemic is over, they will use public transportation for commuting (to work, etc.) once a year or less. This figure stood in contrast to around the same share of people who reported using it at least **** times a week. The type of occupation had a significant influence on this distribution, with office workers most likely to commute with public transportation and the group of students, homemakers, and unemployed hardly ever commuting.
