While a substantial proportion of French people purchase second-hand products or is willing to do so, this is not the case for the entire population. Among the reasons given by the French people surveyed in 2018 to explain the fact that they do not buy such products, the quality seems to be an important concern. In the ÃŽle-de-France region, nearly half of the respondents reported not buying second-hand textiles, linen and footwear because they had concerns about the quality of the product, compared with ** percent in the Southwest.
