Share of valid CEPs for API quality globally by region 2000-2020
The share of Certificates of Suitability of Monographs of the European Pharmacopoeia (CEPs) has shifted from Europe towards Asia between 2000 and 2018. In 2000, Europe held 59 percent of global CEPs but only 33 percent in 2020. CEPs are proof certificates of an active pharmaceutical ingredient's quality, and are used for drug approvals.
