In an attempt to contain the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic in the economy, the majority of governments in East Africa announced economic stimulus packages. As of September 2020, the fiscal relief in Ethiopia, country with most COVID-19 cases in the region, reached *** percent of the Gross Domestic Product. In Kenya, the stimulus package was at *** percent of the GDP.
