As of February 2020, verbal harassment was the most common type of sexual harassment against women during Carnival celebrations in Brazil, according to a survey conducted in the country. Out of the women who said they suffered some type of sexual harassment during the celebrations, ** percent claimed to have suffered a form of verbal abuse. Meanwhile, physical harassment was reported by ** percent of respondents.
