As of June 2020, the current account deficit in Tunisia was projected to deteriorate, after the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The deficit in 2020 was reviewed to **** percent of the GDP, considering a worst-case scenario, where the pandemic persists to the end of the same year. Under the same assumption, the deficit was revised to **** percent of the GDP in 2021. Before the outbreak, the current account deficit was expected at *** percent of the GDP and *** percent of the GDP as of 2020 and 2021, respectively.
