In 2020, the production value of the oil and gas industry in Brazil is forecast to decrease by ** percent in comparison to the previous year, the result of a drop in crude oil production value. In the natural gas segment, the value of production is expected to increase in both 2020 and 2021.
For 2021, the oil and gas sector's production value is expected to increase again, when compared to 2020, but should still remain nearly ** percent below the value reported in 2019. These results are mainly associated with the expected behavior of international oil prices and policies.
