In 2020, the production volume of maize in Angola decreased to 2.3 million metric tons. In the previous year, over 2.8 million metric tons were produced. Overall, the production volume of maize, the main cereal crop in the country, has been increasing since a strong dip in 2012. That year, 454 thousand metric tons of maize were produced.
