The most recent data on music streaming service Boomplay shows a rapid increase in worldwide users, with 75 million users as of June 2020, marking a huge spike in usage in the last two years. Just under a year prior the figures stood at 53 million monthly users, and since July 2018 the service has more than quadrupled its subscriber base. The Chinese owned company has its largest market in Africa, and the vast majority of its users live in Sub-Saharan Africa.
