A survey from April 2020, showed that 29 percent of Italian consumers decreased their spending on books, magazines, and newspapers during the first weeks of the coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency. Whereas nine percent of interviewees stated to have increased their spending in publishing products, almost six in ten respondents believed it remained unchanged.
