The export value of flowers, ornamental plants and trees decreased by more than 20 percent in March 2020, compared to the year before. Of the ten largest export markets, the export to Italy suffered the biggest relative decrease in export value, with a decrease of more than 60 percent. The largets export market of floriculture products from the Netherlands, Germany, imported roughly 16 percent less than in March 2019. The floriculture industry was heavily affected by the coronavirus outbreak in 2020.
