Conversely, sports betting (both online and retail betting) suffered the impact of the coronavirus, as all betting shops were closed and all sporting activities were suspended during the lockdown. This sector registered a turnover of roughly ** million euros as of March 2020, losing over ** million euros compared to March 2019.
