Respondents were from six metro cities, 16 tier one cities and 38 tier two cities. 49 percent of respondents were male and 51 percent of respondents were female.

Tier two - population between 0.1 million and 2 million

Perceived barriers to use public transport India 2019, by gender
The quality of infrastructure was a major barrier among women to using public transportation in India according to a survey on urban mobility. The problem of infrastructure quality was more prevalent in students and homemakers as per the survey. Compared to ** percent of the female respondents unhappy with infrastructure, only ** percent of the male respondents agreed with the statement, the majority of them more unhappy with the frequency of the transport services.
