Monthly global chemical production change due to COVID-19 by region 2020
Because of the effects of the COVID-19 coronavirus, global chemical production declined by *** percent in March 2020 and a further *** percent in April 2020. By August 2020, production increased by *** percent compared to the previous month. Although chemicals production increased in the Former Soviet Union in January through March 2020, until it decreased by a modest *** percent in April and May 2020, production decreased in most world regions during that timeframe. Among all of the world's regions, Asia Pacific's March decrease was the largest, at *** percent. In April 2020, India had the largest monthly production decrease of any country the world, at **** percent that month. Several European countries also had among the largest production decreases that month.
