In a survey conducted in January 2020, roughly ** percent of Italian respondents believed that Italy does not play a central role in the current Libya's crisis. In the same survey, most respondents in Italy believed that the Libya's crisis would bring to an increase in the migration flows in the country.
Libya was an Italian colony between 1934 and 1943. Nowadays, Italy is a trade partner of Libya and a relevant mediator of the country in international relations.
