In 2020, roughly *** thousand Nigerians were granted asylum in Italy. In addition, Pakistani and roughly *** thousand refugees from Bangladesh received the asylum status. Data about the number of asylum applications show that Pakistani, Nigerian, and Bangladeshi were among the most frequent nationalities of asylum seekers in Italy in October 2020.
