Value of Chinese FDI to EU 2014-2023, by ownership of investment
In 2024, about *** billion euros worth of direct investment transactions from China were completed in the 27 EU countries and the United Kingdom. Investment by state-owned enterprises (SOE) decreased again that year with SOE greenfield investment only amounting to *** billion euros. In contrast, private greenfield investment increased to **** billion euros, mainly driven by investments in the electronic vehicle (EV) sector.
