In 2014, Japan received a 26 percent share of Nigeria's liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports. Nigeria was the world's fourth-largest exporter of LNG in 2015. A lack of infrastructure in Nigeria restricts the country's ability to commercialize the natural gas that it currently flares.
