In the fiscal year 2022, around thousand people above the age of 75 years underwent medical examinations offered for free at municipalities in Japan. Japanese municipalities provide free annual medical examinations for people aged between 35 and 74 years old. People aged 75 years and older are also eligible for free medical checkups, as long as they are registered in the "Medical Care System for Older Senior Citizens", a health insurance system specifically designed for the elderly.
