Between 2000 and 2025, the gross domestic product (GDP) of China at current prices grew from 1.22 trillion to 19.63 trillion U.S. dollars. During the same time period the GDP of the United States grew from 10.25 trillion to 30.77 trillion dollars. Contrary to previous forecasts made in the late 2010s and early 2020s, it is not expected that China's GDP will overtake that of the U.S. any time soon.Â
