In Denmark, younger generations of the population were vaccinated against HPV to a greater extent than the older generations. As of 2018, ** percent of Danish females between 15 and 24 years had been vaccinated against HPV at least once. For males in the same age group, the share of respondents amounted to ** percent. In the older age groups, vaccinations were less common, and more women had had the vaccine than men.
In Denmark, free HPV vaccines are provided for girls when they turn 12 years. As of September 2019, the vaccine was also offered for boys turning 12 years.
