The Kansk-Achinsk coal basin, located in Central Siberia, had the largest share of coal reserves in Russia, measuring at over ** percent as of 2020. The Kuznetsk Basin, or Kuzbass, in Western Siberia was the second major coal basin, accounting for * percent of the total.
