* The original survey question stated the following: "Today, do you personally or other members of your family have any kind of bank, consumer loan or a loan from a microfinance organization for which you still need to pay money, or are there no loans?"
The study was carried out in 105 settlements across 55 federal subjects of Russia. Quarterly data are calculated as an arithmetic average of indicators of the polls conducted in the indicated period.
Statistical error does not exceed 3.3%.
The figures were presented for selected time intervals.

Consumer loans at retail stores were the most common type of financing method used by Russians over all the periods under consideration. Roughly 10 percent of respondents also held loans for urgent needs and mortgage loans as of September 2019.
