The Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) aims to measure the factors and policies that make it attractive to develop the travel & tourism sector in different countries. The index is made up of four sub-indexes: Enabling Environment; Travel and Tourism Policy and Enabling Conditions; Infrastructure; and Natural and Cultural Resources. 136 countries are evaluated. The Index scores on a scale from 1 to 7 with 7 being the best rating.
In 2019, Nicaragua received a Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) score of *** out of seven. It shows an increase in comparison to 2017, when the TTCI score of this Latin American country was ****. It shows however a decrease compared to the TTCI score of **** in 2013.
