Greenfield Foreign Direct Investments (FDI), or new foreign direct investment projects (investments from a foreign company with which it establishes operations in a country), almost doubled in the Brussels-Capital Region in 2018. ** new projects were started that year, making up **** of all greenfield FDI in the country. Most of the new foreign direct investments projects, however, were found in Flanders. This change in greenfield FDI was likely due to Brexit uncertainty. One should note, however, that the potential event of a "No-deal Brexit" in ** is forecast to cause big job losses in certain areas of Belgium's economy.
