It has been estimated that Mexico would need to invest 12.8 billion U.S. dollars between 2016 and 2020 in mobile infrastructure to satisfy the mobile broadband traffic demand and increase the coverage. This would signify, among others, erecting 62 thousand base transceiver stations (BTS) until 2020.
