The average daily rate of hotels during 2020 in the emirate of Dubai was *** U.S. dollars, while that of Abu Dhabi was ** U.S. dollars. Dubai is the emirate that witnessed the largest number of international visits in the country. It is known for luxury shopping, lively nightlife, and modern architecture. It has several top man-made attractions such as Burj Khalifa, the Dubai fountain, Atlantis city, and the Palm resort. The Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) ranked the UAE as the most competitive tourism destination in the MENA region in 2018 with a score of *** out of seven points. The tourism sector gross domestic product share after the adjustments for the COVID-19 pandemic in the UAE was expected to reach about **** percent by 2025.
