Panel survey
The survey was based on data related to engineering colleges and tier cities from across India. The top 100 campuses were omitted from the data set since these colleges attract students from all over the country, and are not limited to students from nearby regions.
Cities with a population over 2.5 million were considered tier 1 cities. Cities with population between 0.5 to 2.5 million were tier 2 cities and cities with a population up to 0.5 million were tier 3 cities.
