Considered the most dynamic and fast-paced form of the sport, Twenty20 cricket often sees huge boundaries and explosive displays of batting. The record for fastest century scored in men’s Twenty20 international cricket was broken in 2024 by Estonian international Sahil Chauhan, who achieved the feat within 27 balls. Among the previous holders of this record was India's Rohit Sharma, who is one of the most successful T20 batters of all time, achieving over 3,900 runs for his country. This total is bested, however, by his teammate, Virat Kohli, who has amassed over 4,000 runs for India in Twenty20 internationals.

Virat Kohli is widely heralded as one of the best batters of all time. He is the all-time leading run-scorer in men's Twenty20 World Cups, with over 1,200 runs to his name. In 2024, Kohli lifted the T20 World Cup for the first time in his career, with India securing its second title during that year's edition of the competition. Alongside his impressive T20 stats, Kohli also sat in third place in the ranking of leading men's One Day International run-scorers as of January 2025.
