According to the 2024 European Accommodation Barometer, hoteliers in Europe named financial support through lower VAT for tourism and hospitality, investments in local infrastructure, and macroeconomic stability as the top 3 issues that they wished could be prioritized by politicians. Each of these issues were selected by 70% or more of the survey respondents. Other issues high on the list include financial support for promoting rural tourism (66%) as well as the improvement of public transportation (65%).
