For all his strengths, modesty has never been one of Jay-Z鈥檚 strong suits. During his long career, the U.S. billionaire rapper hasn鈥檛 shied away from comparing himself to the all-time greats. Whether it鈥檚 鈥渃rushing Elvis and his blue suede shoes鈥, being 鈥渙n the Beatles鈥 ass鈥 or having 鈥渇ive more rings than Michael Jordan had鈥 (now it鈥檚 eight by the way), Jay-Z demands the throne and in many cases he has the numbers to back up his claim. As a matter of fact, he did surpass Elvis Presley as the solo artists with the most number 1 albums in the United States in 2009, leaving just The Beatles for him to beat.
After the 2023 Grammy Awards, the 53-year-old rapper has even more bragging rights: not only does he share the record for the most Grammy nominations with his wife Beyonc茅, but his better half is now the person with the most wins in the award's 65-year history. Back in 2011, Jay-Z rapped: "Bey-Bey [Beyonc茅] my Yoko Ono, Rih-Rih [Rihanna] complete the family. Imagine how that's gon' look front row at the Grammys." As the official Grammy power couple, the Carter family no longer has to worry about seating arrangements at the award show, and Jay-Z can add "prophet" to his resume.
