Online news access by smartphone or tablet is becoming more and more popular in the United States. Meanwhile, one in four Americans uses a smartphone to access online news and 16 percent consume news via tablet. This is one result of the , published by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism last week.
The report examines various aspects of news consumption across different markets, and contains a mixed bag of results for the struggling newspaper industry. The research was conducted at the end of January/beginning of February 2013.
