(Hyundai E&C) was later created with the merger of Hyundai Construction and Hyundai Engineering in 1999. Notable figures, such as former South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, have held leading positions at the company. Not only is it one of the largest engineering, procurement, and construction contractors in the South Korean oil and gas industry but also one of the largest construction firms worldwide in terms of revenue.
