Established in 1994, Aptiv PLC is a multinational automotive parts provider based in Dublin, Ireland. Aptiv PLC experienced several important corporate events that include four times full or partial renaming of the company, change of corporate leaders, filing for bankruptcy, disputes with local governments, and many other hurdles. One of the most interesting is the mere fact that Aptiv PLC is the fourth renaming trial of the original company. At first, the company was named as Automotive Components Group, which got changed in 1995 to Delphi Automotive Systems. In 2008, the company filed for bankruptcy and sought many ways to come out of the financial insolvency and illiquidity. Some months later, Delphi’s main assets for operations were purchased by investors who then created a new Delphi Corporation. The old Delphi was given a new name as DPH Holdings Corporation with the remaining assets. The final renaming of the Delphi Corporation took place in 2017, during which the company name Aptiv PLC was formulated.
