Nova Scotia is a Canadian province located on the eastern coastal seaside of the country. It was one of the four original provinces that made up the Canadian Confederation in 1867. With a population of slightly more than one million people, with a majority living in rural areas, and more than half originating from the British Isles, it is Canada's second-smallest province by land area and second most densely populated province. It has seen a significant increase in the number of immigrants that have moved there in the past several years. The province of Nova Scotia is made up of the peninsula of Nova Scotia, Cape Breton Island, and several small islands. Neighbored by Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, Nova Scotia’s capital is Halifax, their largest city.
