BRP Inc., parent-company of Bombardier Recreational Products, announced in 2024 that it now offered four electric snowmobiles, with plans to add at least one fully electric model in all its power sports lines by 2026. The company recorded a strong financial performance during their 2023 fiscal year, with net incomes reaching over 865 million Canadian dollars after soaring in 2022. The company attributed this 2022 financial milestone to an increased consumer interest in powersports. Its success extended through its 2023 fiscal year despite grappling with a cybersecurity incident forcing production halts in the summer and ongoing supply chain shortages. Business interruptions and cyber incidents were the two leading risks to large and mid-size companies worldwide, as highlighted by risk management experts in a 2023 survey.
