The country welcomed 75 cruise ships, mooring several times to facilitate over 4.2 million cruise guest days across its various coastal regions. Many cruise operators’ ships, including Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, and Carnival Cruise Line, carrying substantial passenger numbers, enter the country’s waters each year. With cruise-goers’ expenditure boosting not only tour operator incomes offshore but also contributing to local businesses and communities on land, Australia’s cruise tourism economic contribution hit a record high in the 2024 financial year, almost doubling from the prior period.
