Imports to South Korea - statistics & facts
South Korea has established itself among the most important countries for international trade and has set up many trade partnerships and trade agreements. While being an export-oriented economy, the import trade of South Korea also ranks high in global comparisons. South Korea recorded exclusively trade surpluses for over a decade, but in 2022, imports outweighed export value. While the country’s export trade recovered well during 2023 and 2024, South Korea still imports various commodities, leading to an import value of goods at around 642.6 billion U.S. dollars.
