Medical device industry in Indonesia - statistics and facts
Great strides in the Indonesian healthcare system have been made in recent years. Increased government spending on healthcare has provided a solid foundation for its development. As the country looks to revamp its healthcare facilities, the medical device industry has become increasingly important. Along with the pharmaceutical industry, the already booming medical device industry gained a major boost as demand for pharmaceutical products and medical devices to contain and combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) surged during the pandemic. In 2021, the medical device industry in Indonesia recorded an annual revenue growth of 8.6 percent after plunging by about 10.3 percent in 2020 due to scarcity amid the pandemic.
