Pollution in South Korea - statistics & facts
In the past three decades, South Korea鈥檚 carbon dioxide emissions have increased by over 100 percent. The rise in pollution levels has been a steep price to pay for 鈥渢he Miracle on the Han River,鈥 otherwise known as the country鈥檚 rapid economic growth following the Korean War. South Korea鈥檚 expenditure on environmental protection has increased over time, but whether this is enough to offset the damage already caused by pollution has yet to be determined.
