Automotive industry in Austria - statistics & facts
Though relatively small compared to the European automotive industry as a whole, Austria’s automobile industry is one of the most significant manufacturing industries in the country. It had the fourth-highest production value by industry sector and an annual turnover of 10.5 billion euros in 2020. Automobile production in Austria is predominantly concentrated in the states of Upper Austria and Styria. These two states combined are responsible for nearly three-quarters of the country's industry turnover and employ more than two-thirds of the approximately 37,500 employees in the sector.
