While telemedicine played an important role in complementing health care practices during the COVID-19 pandemic, the pandemic itself has in turn strongly influenced the development of telemedicine services. In Brazil, relevant updates on regulations concerning the telemedicine market have come into effect in the last years, resulting from an increase in demand and supply brought about by a special mandate enforced during the pandemic. These guidelines are expected to be further revised in the near future, with the intention of keeping up with the rapidly developing sector. In line with these changes, revenue for online doctor consultations in the South American country is expected to constantly increase in the coming years, surpassing one billion U.S. dollars and nearly four million users by 2026. By that date, the average revenue of the market is estimated to reach close to 270 U.S. dollars per user.
