India's burgeoning population of over 1.3 billion people brings with it a higher burden of disease, specifically communicable diseases. Tuberculosis in particular is one of India's major public health concerns. This report highlights the status quo of tuberculosis in the country through the number of notifications. In addition, it underscores key figures relative to financial performance of the government funded program to eliminate TB. This includes TB prevention coverage and treatment outcomes. Further, it also provides estimates relative to the number of notifications, presumptive TB cases, tests and prescriptions for the national TB elimination program in India until 2023.
