This report presents statistical information on the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic situation in the southernmost region (based on the United Nation's classification) of the African continent. An overview is presented of the pandemic numbers globally, before focusing and presenting the number of cases and mortalities in each of the countries within the Southern African region. With expectations of a negative effect of the pandemic on the economy, projected data on the real gross domestic product of each of the countries is examined. Lastly, data on the vaccination process is reviewed.
