This statistics report provides information about the environmental impact and the energy efficiency of buildings in most European countries. The first chapter provides insight into the greenhouse gas emissions and the energy consumption of buildings. After that, the number and distribution of energy performance certificates (EPCs) are shown with chapters focusing on each European region. EPCs are certificates that measure the energy efficiency of buildings. In some cases, however, there is another subset of certificates that show how much CO₂ emissions that the building is responsible for.
