This report presents a range of statistics and facts about skin cancer in Europe. The two main types of skin cancer are melanoma and non-melanoma. While non-melanoma cancers are the more common of the two, the mortality rate is higher from melanoma. Survival rates from melanomas have increased significantly though over the last couple of decades. Included within this report are chapters on the incidence in Europe, survival, mortality, and the cost burden of skin cancer on healthcare systems in Europe.
