The menopause is a natural part of aging for women, and generally occurs between 45 and 55 years of age. Caused by changing hormone levels, symptoms associated with the menopause can have a huge impact on the lives of those going through it. This report presents a range of statistics showing the experience underwent by women in the major European countries, the impact this had at work, as well as perceptions of a stigma or taboo when discussing the menopause in the workplace. Furthermore, there are chapters regarding medication for symptoms associated with menopause and the role of femtech in addressing the menopause.
