In the U.S., the number of active physicians is constantly increasing, yet the supply is not meeting the demand and there is a growing shortage of physicians. This report includes data on national figures and for U.S. individual states. There are chapters on physician characteristics/demographic, compensation, and physician shortage. An additional chapter provides insight into the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on doctors.
