Global warming is the gradual heating of Earth's surface, oceans, and atmosphere caused by human activity (primarily by burning fossil fuels) that release carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane (CH₄), and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Warming can result in many severe environmental alterations, eventually impacting human health. It can also cause a rise in sea level, increased risks of droughts and floods, and threats to biodiversity, to name a few.
