- Amateur: runs 3-5 days a week to stay fit but does not train for a race. These runners may occasionally take part in running events with friends, always without intending for real goals.
- Advanced: trains at least twice a week and takes part in more than 3 running events a year. This type of runner trains both to stay fit and to try their best at running events.
- Expert: trains more than 3 times a week and tries to beat their own records and take on new challenges.
